2010 fall commencement information

The University of Southern Indiana will hold two Fall Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, December 11, in the Physical Activities Center (PAC). A 10 a.m. ceremony will be held for degree candidates from the College of Business, College of Nursing and Health Professions, and Pott College of Science and Engineering. Students in the Bower-Suhrheinrich College of Education and Human Services, College of Liberal Arts, and Division of Extended Services will receive degrees at 1 p.m.

Brian McGuire, associate dean from the College of Business, will deliver the Commencement address. He was named the Integra Bank Distinguished Professor last semester for his contributions to the University, its students, and the larger community.

Bradley C. Cadden, Wendy R. Johnson, and Katharine A. Funke are University Honors Scholars. They can be recognized in December's ceremony by the white honor cords worn with their regalia.

Graduating summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 grade point average are Brittany Miles, Cassaundra A. Hisch, Courtney R. Mickel, Emlyn O. Bruns, Katie E. Eckleberry, Kaycie M. Hibdon, Rosanna M. Sartore, and Virgina L. Marsee. They can be recognized in December's ceremony by their gold stoles and tassels. Sixteen students will graduate magna cum laude and 30 students will graduate cum laude.

USI began holding Fall Commencement in 2006 and added a second ceremony in 2008 to accommodate the growing number of graduates, family, and friends in attendance. More than 500 students will participate in Saturday's Commencement ceremonies.
