Bridges promoted in Business Affairs

Sarah Harlan Administrative Associate News & Information Services 812/465-7005 Bridges joined the University in 1989 and has 21 years of service in business operations at USI. He has held the positions of staff accountant, chief accountant, controller, and director of the Business Office. He was the Banner project manager when Banner software system was installed at USI, managing implantation resources, scheduling training sessions, and monitoring project milestones, among other duties. "It's a special pleasure to recognize Steve Bridges with this important promotion," said Mark Rozewski, vice president for finance and administration. "Steve is widely known on campus as an accomplished financial professional and a leader with great administrative skills. We are also happy to be able to promote an alumnus of USI's very highly regarded accounting program into this critical role." Bridges received his Master of Business Administration degree and Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from USI. He currently serves as chair on the USI Data Standards Committee, the USI Banner Operations Committee, and the USI Licensing Committee. He received the Rising Star Award from the National Association of College and University Business Officers in 2007. An active community leader throughout his career, he serves as finance committee chair for the Girl Scouts of Raintree Council and has served as treasurer. His other interests include Ark Crisis Nursery and coach to girls' softball and basketball teams. He and his family reside in Henderson, Kentucky. |
