Phenomenal Women deadline is February 10

The recognition will celebrate the contributions of women at USI and in the community during National Women's History Month in March. Nominations are being accepted through Thursday, February 10, 2011 in seven categories: one graduate student, two undergraduate students, one faculty member, one administrative staff member, one support staff member, and an alumna from USI, plus three women from the community at large. Student nominees must have a 2.25 cumulative grade point average, be currently enrolled at USI, serve as a role model for other USI students, and be a champion for diversity. USI employees and women in the community who have made an impact on the lives of others, served as a role model for others, and continue to be a champion for diversity are eligible for nomination. Awards will be presented at the 10th annual Phenomenal Women of USI and the Community recognition banquet to be held at 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2011 at USI. The nomination form is available at www.usi.edu/phenomenalwomen/nominationform.asp. Nominations can be submitted online, sent via email to cdbeebe@usi.edu, faxed to 812/461-5287, or mailed to University of Southern Indiana, Multicultural Center, 8600 University Boulevard, Evansville, Indiana 47712. This is the tenth year University of Southern Indiana will recognize women from USI and the community who promote diversity, which is defined as the differences and similarities among groups of people and individuals based on race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, gender, language, abilities, religion, and sexual orientation. |
