USI's Service Learning to hold trails work party in celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Brandi Schwartz Marketing Coordinator Outreach & Engagement 812/464-1854 Participants will create a new picnic area below a beautiful bluff on campus. Work will include the assembly of a picnic table, bench installation, and clearing of debris near a small bike trail. Those wishing to participate should meet at USI in the overflow parking lot located behind the tennis courts. Goals of the project are to build awareness of racial differences in community health issues and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle. Click here to download a fact sheet for the project. Donations for Archibald Eagle's Food Closet will also be accepted. The Service Learning Program will host additional trail events funded by North Carolina Campus Compact and the State Farm Foundation throughout the semester.
