General Assembly will honor USI's national championship baseball team

Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 The resolution acknowledges that the Screaming Eagles are the first team from the Midwest Region and the first in the state of Indiana to win a national championship in baseball. Also mentioned are Brad Vance, NCAA II Regional Most Valuable Player, Taylor Dennis, Most Outstanding Player in the NCAA II National Championship series, and Head Coach Tracy Archuleta, American Baseball Coaches Association Division II Coach of the Year and American Baseball Coaches Association and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Midwest Region Coach of the Year. Watch the proceedings online beginning at 12:30 p.m. CST. While in Indianapolis, members of the team will meet with Governor Mitch Daniels, as will Archuleta, Chris Marx and Jeremy Kuester, assistant coaches, Jon Mark Hall, director of Athletics, and Cindy Brinker, vice president of government and university relations. |
