Sarah Harlan Administrative Associate News & Information Services 812/465-7005 Rosenwein, professor of history at Loyola University in Chicago, is the author of To Be the Neighbor of Saint Peter: The Social Meaning of Cluny's Property (909-1049), A Short History of the Middle Ages, Emotional Communities in the Early Middle Ages, and one of the Journal Annales "Best Books of 1999" Negotiating Space: Power, Restraint, and Privileges of Immunity in Early Medieval Europe. Rosenwein's research specialty is on the middle ages and her research interests include history of emotions, religious, social and intellectual history of the Middle Ages, and interactions between the West, the Islamic world, and Byzantium in the Middle Ages. Internationally known for her work on the history of emotions, Rosenwein has presented lectures in France, The Netherlands, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Taiwan, and Sweden.
