Contact for more information:
Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 Hawkins' paper looks at the explorations of "queerness" as "monstrousness" in contemporary horror films, including Bram Stoker's "Dracula," the Twilight saga, and "30 Days of Night." She asks, "How 'straight' we can read these films - and what they might tell us about the position of queerness in a society based on normative heterosexuality?" The colloquium is a free lecture series featuring faculty research in the College of Liberal Arts. For more information, contact Dr. Andrew Buck, coordinator of the series and assistant professor of sociology, at 812/461-5343. |
