Sarah Harlan Administrative Associate News & Information Services 812/465-7005 "The overnight relay demonstrates that cancer never sleeps," said David Duvall, assistant director of Student Development Programs. While Relay for Life is a team event, individuals are encouraged to participate and can be assigned to an existing team. Along with the walk, there will be a dance party, Twister and cornhole competitions, basketball, a scavenger hunt, and inflatable bounce houses. Relay for Life is the signature fundraising event of the American Cancer Society. The Relay gives communities the chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. At Relay, team members take turns walking or running around a track or path, and each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the 12 hours.
