The University of Southern Indiana's Assessment Day is Tuesday, April 19. Seniors in certain majors are required to participate in the Spring 2011 Assessment Day activities. No classes will be held that day.

Major Field Tests will be given to seniors with the following majors: Biology, Business (undergraduates enrolled in MNGT 452 graduates enrolled in MNGT 681), Chemistry, Economics, English, Geology, History, Mathematics, Political Science, Psychology, and Sociology.

Students who want to verify their testing status should visit www.usi.edu/opra/assessment/testing.aspx and enter their 9-digit student ID. If a student's name appears, he or she is required to take the Major Field Test.

Assessment Day is part of USI's Assessment Program. One day each fall and spring, classes are not scheduled so students may fulfill their obligation to participate in the testing. The University believes in the validity of the Assessment Program and has adopted the following resolution: As a requirement for graduation, every student shall participate in periodic evaluative procedures, which may include examination in general education and the major field of study.

Students who fail to participate in Assessment Day testing as assigned OR who are reported for test misconduct will be designated as a No Show The sanction for a No Show will be determined by the department of the student's major. Please review Student Rights and Responsibilities: A Code of Student Behavior, section 2.15.2 for more information regarding student misconduct.

For more information, go to the Office of Planning, Research, and Assessment website.
