USI assistant director of Alumni and Volunteer Services named

Sarah Harlan Administrative Associate News & Information Services 812/465-7005 As an adjunct instructor at IUPUC, Miller taught marketing strategy, career planning and placement, advertising and promotion, and consumer behavior and learning communities. She designed and coordinated community programming and outreach such as the Rush County Fair, County Plan of Work, and Ag Day as county extension director. She recruited and trained over 80 adult volunteers, 450 plus youth volunteers, as well as oversaw two volunteer boards. She worked in collaboration with community leaders to establish a distance learning lab, a leadership academy, and a million dollar livestock pavilion. Her County Extension programs received a Regional Award in Leadership and Community Development in 2002, the Indiana Extension Educators Leadership and Community Development Award in 2001, and the National Extension Educators Achievement In Service Award in 2000. Miller will assist Nancy Johnson, director of Alumni and Volunteer Services, in managing operations of the office of Alumni and Volunteer Services and developing opportunities for alumni, parents, students, and volunteers to remain connected and involved with USI. She will recruit, train, and manage USI volunteers, coordinate volunteer programs, manage the USI Parents and Families Association, and manage the USI Student Alumni Association. Miller received her master's degree in Public Affairs and her Bachelor of Science degree in marketing from Indiana University, Bloomington. She was an active parishioner at Saint Bartholomew in Columbus, Indiana, an NCTI Certified Matrixx System instructor, and a certified Purdue Master Gardner. |
