Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 University Boulevard will be repaved from the roundabout to Rankin Lane (the cross street south of the Recreation, Fitness, and Wellness Center). Work will begin on the north bound lanes of University Boulevard, which will be closed on Monday, May 9. During this time, the south bound lanes will operate as a two-way street. View the campus map at www.usi.edu/visit/map/. Fred Kalvelage, USI staff architect and construction manager, said there will be at least two access points through the work zone into parking lots A, B, and C. Truck traffic to the Support Services Center will be diverted to a route along the east end of parking lots A, B, and C to Bennett Lane. This route will be for truck traffic only. The north bound lanes of University Boulevard will remain closed until half-way through the summer, at which time they will operate as a two-way street while the south bound lanes are repaved. USI News and Information Services will post updates on the project as information becomes available. |
