Congratulations to the class of 2011 honor students

Nearly 250 undergraduate honor students of the Class of 2011 at the University of Southern Indiana are identified with honor cords as part of the academic regalia at the Commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 8.

Baccalaureate degree candidates graduating with the highest scholarship index are graduated summa cum laude and wear gold cords. Baccalaureate students graduating with a scholarship index of 3.80 or higher are graduated magna cum laude and wear red cords. Those with a scholarship index between 3.60 and 3.80 are graduated cum laude and wear blue cords.

Scholarship honors are given only to baccalaureate students. Students in master's degree and doctoral degree programs are expected to maintain a grade point average of 3.0 and most achieve much higher.
