USI releases new series of noncredit courses

Brandi Schwartz Marketing Coordinator Outreach & Engagement 812/464-1854 More than 45 offerings in the categories of academic enrichment, arts, fitness, family, leisure, and personal development are available. You can learn the basics of playing a drum set, how to speak a foreign language, or how to sail. Floral designer Sara Rhoades will instruct Wedding Floral Design, a three-week course that will cover color and design of floral arrangements. The course will also explain the differences between fresh and silk arrangements, provide church and reception decoration ideas, and offer money saving tips. Computer and information management courses, including My First Computer Class, Using Windows, Getting Started With Access 2007, and Preparing a PowerPoint 2007 Presentation, are also on the schedule. Art Workshop for Children, Preschool Swimming, and Swimming for Boys and Girls, is among the offerings for children. A complete schedule of classes can be downloaded by clicking here. Noncredit courses are open to anyone, regardless of educational background. Courses are presented in a noncompetitive and informal atmosphere where interest in learning is the primary consideration.
