Super Summer sessions to be held in June and July

"Scientific Kids," "Green Experiments," and "Radical Robots" are among the offerings during this years' Super Summer classes offered through USI's Center for Education Services and Partnerships in the Division of Outreach and Engagement. The program includes two one-week sessions for children Pre-K4 through 14 with morning classes taking place from 9 to 11:30 a.m. and afternoon classes from 12:30 to 3 p.m.

Week one of Super Summer will take place June 13-17 at USI and week two will be held July 11-15 at Dexter School located at 917 S. Dexter Ave. in Evansville.

Registration is $85 per course or $80 when registering the same child in more than one course, or when registering two or more children at the same time. Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation students, who are eligible for the free and reduced lunch program, may enroll in sessions for $10 per course. Reduced-fee enrollments are limited.

Free lunchtime supervision will be available at each location for those enrolling in both morning and afternoon classes. Children enrolled all day and staying for lunch must be five years or older and should bring their own nonperishable lunches and drinks during week one. The federal lunch program will provide lunch and drinks for children attending morning and afternoon classes during week two at Dexter School.

The complete Super Summer schedule is below, grades referred to are the grades to be entered this fall.

Week one: June 13-17 at USI

Morning classes: 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Down on the Farm: Pre-K4-1
It's Magic!: grades 1-3
Scientific Kids: grades 2-4
Kids' Concoctions: grades 3-5
Art Matters: grades 4-6
It Flies! Aerodynamics and Rocketry: grades 6-9

Afternoon classes: 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Kindergarten Readiness and Review: grades K-1
Story Stretchers: grades 1-3
Ole!: grades 2-4
Future Forensic Scientists: grades 4-6
Green Experiments: grades 5-7
Radical Robots: grades 6-9

Week two: July 11-15 at Dexter School

Morning classes: 9 to 11:30 a.m.
Books come Alive: Pre-K4-1
Science Story Stretchers: grades 1-3
Cool Craft Creations: grades 2-4
Art Matters: grades 3-5
Claymation: grades 4-6
Radical Robots: grades 6-9

Afternoon classes: 12:30 to 3 p.m.
Hands-On Art: grades K-2
Passport To...: grades 2-4
KSI - Kid's Scene Investigation: grades 3-5
The Tech Team: grades 5-7
Study Skills for School Success: grades 6-9
