New director, new department at USI

Sarah Harlan Administrative Associate News & Information Services 812/465-7005 Toeniskoetter comes to USI from Northern Arizona University where he was the director of Information Technology in the W.A. Franke College of Business for eight years. While leading the Information Technology team, they were selected twice by Windows IT Pro magazine for IT Innovators for the grand prize award for showcasing solutions for classroom lab lockdowns in 2005 and detailed user logon and logoff tracking in 2007. Toeniskoetter will oversee all facets of the Department of Information Technology, which now includes the Computer Center and Instructional Technology Services. USI's energy level, strategic plan, and focus on undergraduate education are a few reasons Toeniskoetter chose the University. "USI is moving forward and growing," Toeniskoetter said. "And I believe technology can be an important differentiator that distinguishes USI from other institutions." Toeniskoetter has several plans for the upcoming academic year. The Department of Information Technology recently launched a new version of Blackboard, and they are working on providing a unified help desk for the campus. |
