After-hours shuttle transports students to RFWC and more

USI students who live in McDonald East and West and O'Daniel North and South may use a shuttle bus to reach the Recreation Fitness and Wellness Center starting on Wednesday, August 31. The shuttle will operate from 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and from 6 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Sundays during the fall semester. The shuttle route will include stops at the Housing and Residence Life Community Center, the O'Daniel South Laundry, the Orr Center bus stop, and the Recreation Fitness and Wellness Center.

"The shuttle will offer a convenient and safe way for students to reach buildings on campus for recreation, food, and study," said Steve Woodall, director of Security. "The service will be in effect during the 2011 fall semester as a pilot program to determine what kind of interest students have in such a transportation option."

Food options along the shuttle route are Red Mango (to open soon) in the Forum Wing of the Wright Administration Building, Burger King in UC West, Starbucks in Rice Library, and Eagle Express Convenience Store in the housing complex.
