Take advantage of Academic Skills

As a new academic year kicks off, students are reminded to take full advantage of free tutoring and paper editing through Academic Skills. Academic Skills offers a wide array of services including subject-based tutoring, Fall Success Series Workshops, math tutoring, and the Writers' Room. Last year alone, over 2,200 individual students made 12,650 visits to the Academic Skills office for learning related activities.

As always, subject-based, math, and study skills tutors will be available in the following locations:

- Academic Skills Arena (ED 1111) 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday

- Writers' Room (ED 1102) 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday

In addition, Academic Skills has extended hours/services in various locations on campus:

- Tutoring in the Multicultural Center on Mondays (Math, Study Skills, and Writing) 1 to 3 p.m.

- Tutoring Tuesdays in the Recreation, Fitness, and Wellness Center (Math, Science, and Writing) 6 to 9 p.m.

- Tutoring in Rice Library on Wednesdays (Math, Study Skills, and Writing) 6 to 9 p.m.
