Wendy Knipe Bredhold Media Relations Specialist, News & Information Services 812/461-5259 The University will celebrate the careers of: Susan G. Ahmad, program director for the occupational therapy assistant program and assistant professor of occupational therapy. Ahmad won the Sydney L. and Sadelle Berger Faculty Community Service Award in 2007. She joined USI in 2001. Dr. Nadine A. Coudret, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions. Coudret joined the University in 1988, serving as the first dean of the College of Nursing and Health Professions. She also served as interim provost and vice president of Academic Affairs from 2009 to 2010. Dr. James H. Divine, associate professor of education. Divine has served as manager of the Transition to Teaching program since 1999. He joined USI in 1987. Larry F. Gries, instructor in English, who joined USI in 2000. Dr. Peggy F. Harrel, director of Graduate Studies and Sponsored Research and assistant professor of English. She joined USI in 1989. Nancy L. Johnson, director of Alumni and Volunteer Services. Johnson has been employed by the University since she graduated from USI with her undergraduate degree in 1983. She also earned the Master of Liberal Studies degree from USI in 1995. Dr. Guillermo Latorre, professor of Spanish. He joined USI in 1989. His wife Teresa Huerta, associate professor emeriti of Spanish, retired in 2008. Carolyn L. Maasberg, assistant bookstore manager. She joined USI in 1996. Dr. Charles L. Price, professor of science education. Price joined USI in 1979. An avid photographer, he photographed USI Athletics in its early years and has continued to document the campus with his USI Natural Beauty project. He also established and has led ongoing maintenance of the University's Bluebird Trail. Dr. Thomas M. Rivers, director of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program and professor of English. Rivers retires as the University's current longest-serving professor, joining USI in 1968. Rivers has taught the popular sailing class since 1975. As the most senior member of the faculty, Rivers has for years served as Grand Marshal and carried the ceremonial mace at Commencement. Betty R.
