Economic Benefits: No meeting this month.
-
By-Laws: No meeting this month.

Nominating committee: Nine members are going
off Staff Council. All are eligible to run for another term except one.
Forms have been distributed to members asking them to suggest volunteers to
run for office.
-
Old Business: Marriott Food Service will be
asked to stay open until 1:30 during the summer hours. Because of
construction in the building, the Eagles Nest will be closed.
Don Brohears is the Staff Council representative to the
Food Service Committee. Only one other member attended. A major problem for
this committee is to find people who are willing to serve and attend meetings.

New Business/Discussion: Darlene Fisher reported
that the voluntary self evaluation forms have been distributed to supervisors
in each department. A training session was held for supervisors concerning
the evaluations with good attendance. Deadline for completion of the reports
is May 7. Reminders will be sent the following week to those who have not
returned evaluations. These evaluations are meant as a positive
reinforcement to employees, validating their accomplishments and setting goals
for the year. There was discussion about the voluntary self evaluation form
given to the employees before meeting with the supervisor. It was stressed
that they are strictly voluntary. A suggestion was made that the time of year
for the evaluations be changed, since end of the school year is very busy for
everyone. Someone questioned the combining of vacation and sick time under
the heading of “lost time”. The suggestion was made again that different
forms should be used for different departments, since questions are not
pertinent in some areas. It was discussed that the form is a generic form
that was created a few years ago from a committee that worked hard to make it
usable for all departments.
Contracts for “Concern”, long term disability, and
employee life programs are all being negotiated at this time.
Automated time recording for employees is being
considered, and several options are being evaluated at this time.
A motion was made by Ginny Hall and seconded by Becky
Ball to adjourn at 11:25 a.m.
