Approved Minutes

Present: Sandi Migonis, David Huebner, Terri Schaefer, Terry Martin and Janet Johnson.

Recorder: Linda Dillbeck 

Sandi Migonis called the meeting to order at 10:10 a.m. 

1)      Approval of Minutes

i)   A quorum was not present to accept the minutes.   

2)      Employee Relations Committee

3)      Dave Huebner presented the following information in writing.

i)    Archibald’s Closet: there are enough items at this time.

ii)   Our Adopt-a-Spot: caught the attention of Operation City Beautiful and they sent us a thank you. Thanks again for your help in watering this year.

iii)    Family day with the Eagles: is in the planning stages.

iv)    The Bible Study: The group will meet weekly on Mondays 1-2 pm in UC 205.

v)      The Giving Tree: Dave Huebner, Lois, Karen and JoAnn will meet Aug. 22 in the Varsity Club room to start planning this year’s event.

vi)    Student Worker week:   Terry Martin and Karen will start planning in January, 2003.

vii)  Web Page: Rose has an impressive beginning on the web site. If changes are needed or projects need to be announced please let her know. Updated                       pictures are also needed.

USI Employee Picnic: Lois and all of Employee Relations Committee (ERC) will start the planning in January, 2003.  

viii) ERC is asking Staff Council to create another committee for the “Employee Savings Program” due to time commitments. The Volunteer Services department may help with the business contacts. Lois said she can organize the paperwork. 

4)      Old Business

i)    Sandi Migonis reported that the Staff Council suggestions for improvements from the road survey have been turned into Barry Hart’s office.           

ii)   Sandi gave a review report from the Staff Council Retreat.  

5)      New Business

            It was brought up that there is not a courtesy phone in the Orr Center. Staff Council will check into it.

Terri Schaefer motioned to adjourn the meeting at 10:45 am., seconded by Janet Johnson.
