Approved minutes

Present: Debbie Clark, Terry Martin, Christine Crews, Pam Van Vorst, Sheree Seib, Terri Schaefer, Christina Jines, Yvonne Floyd, Jalane Weber, Shannon Hoehn and Julie Bordelon

Debbie Clark called the meeting to order at 2:04pm.

A motion to approve the minutes from the 10/27/2004, Staff Council meeting were made by Christina Jines and 2nd by Yvonne Floyd.


COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Employee Relations: Sheree Seib said The Giving Tree gifts were given to 22 families of which 53 were children and 30 adults. Debbie Clark thanked all of the volunteers and members agreed this year’s effort was a great success.
Jalane Weber is keeping track of the tickets for the December 31st basketball game played at USI. Members may receive 4 tickets each on a first come – first serve basis.

Economic Benefits: Angie Brawdy, Human Resources, is working with Yvonne Floyd on a short-term disability insurance survey.
Darlene Fisher is working with Lurretta Daugherty, Christine Crews and Julie Bordelon in comparing USI wages to Evansville, state, federal and other university wages. The results from this research in the various position levels will help determine the wage increase proposed at the February budget hearing.
Terri Schaefer is working with Darlene Fisher on shift differential wages, and members agreed to add this research with the position levels research.

Nominating Committee: Nothing to report.

NEW BUSINESS: Dan Rodgers has left USI, and Debbie Clark announced we will need a new staff council member.

OLD BUSINESS: Nothing to report.

DISCUSSION/ANNOUNCEMENTS: Shannon Hoehn emailed information on the phenomenal women nominations for 2005, and asked for members to participate in this event.
Debbie Clark reviewed the snow days policies, and read the memoriams for Leo Lutterbach and Jim Bowlds.
Next meeting January 26, 2pm in UC 214.

ADJOURNMENT: Motion for the meeting to be adjourned was made by Pam Van Vorst and 2nd by Terri Schaefer.
