PRESENT: Karen Anderson, Don Broshears, Becky Ball, Mandi
Fulton, Barbara Goodwin, Ginny Hall, Michelle Herrmann, Chris Jines, Phyllis
Oeth, Jalane Weber, Terry Young, Darlene Fisher, Kim Greenlee.
The meeting was called to order by Barbara Goodwin at
10:05 am.
A motion was made by Chris Jines and seconded by Becky
Ball to accept the January minutes with changes.

Announcements from HR: Kim Greenlee reported
that the Smoking Committee is meeting every two weeks. HR will provide
Economic Benefits Committee with additional budget information next week.
Employee evaluations from several departments are still out for 2000.

Employee Relations: Tuesday, March 27 has been
designated Student Worker Appreciation Day. On June 20 Staff Council will
host the employee picnic. Menu changes include BBQ pork and chicken instead
of grilled chicken and burgers. Staff Council will help Sodexho Marriott with
the spring food drive for Eagle Food Closet.

Economic Benefits: No meeting was held in
February. The budget proposal will be presented on March 19 at 8:30 a.m. A
suggestion was made that the budget proposal e-mail be sent to Staff Council
members after the meeting next week with HR personnel

Old Business: The By-Laws Committee will meet
again in April.
Establishment of the Employees Ambassador program is
progressing. A May 16 meeting has been set for employee ambassadors. A
one-on-one assignment with new employees will be made with those who have
volunteered to be ambassadors. After 6 months, an evaluation will be
completed by the new employees to assess the benefits of the program. The
program is scheduled to begin in late May or early June.
The new Staff Council flyer is being distributed to all
new employees by HR.
The University Employee Handbook has been given legal
clearance to be included on the website.
Kim Racine, a new marketing person for Sodexho Marriott
is looking for one Staff Council representative to serve on a committee to
make suggestions for the food, themes, etc. Don Broshears volunteered with
some coaxing from the Staff Council members.
A series of questions and discussion was raised about
employee performance evaluations.
A question was raised about repair and maintenance of
sidewalks on campus. The Safety Committee is the area to call with reports.
Calling the Physical Plant at 1700 is also appropriate.
Mandi Fulton made a motion to adjourn the meeting which was
seconded by Phyllis Oeth.
