on one of the spread sheets used in the proposal presented to the Budget
committee by Debbie Clark on March 19, 2001. The presentation was generally

Old Business: The function of the Smoking
Committee is to make recommendations concerning smoking on campus. A clean up
day is being planned and the committee would appreciate Staff Council help
with promotion and the actual clean up. The Ecology club has also been
contacted about their involvement with this project. Much discussion ensued
about the number of issues to be examined in order to enforce change
concerning issues. “Adopt a Spot” clean up was a suggestion made within the
committee. Other Universities are being contacted about smoking issues on
their campuses.
Parking around the Liberal Arts building is an obvious
challenge for everyone. No additional parking by the University is in
progress at this time, however the parking issue is discussed and planned by
various committees on a regular basis.
Fuel leaks have occurred twice within the past month on
campus. A Staff Council member explained the attempts being made thus far to
correct this situation and it should not occur again.
Dr. Hoops made a brief appearance to comment on the
presentation made by Staff Council to the Budget Committee.
Debbie Strueh made a motion to adjourn the meeting,
seconded by Becky Ball..
