Approved minutes
Present: Karen Anderson, Julie Bordelon, Denise Bulger, Debbie Clark,
Lurretta Daugherty, Carol Diedrich, Yvonne Floyd, Donna Hopf, Chris
Jines, Terri Martin, Molly McConnell, Sheree Seib, Darren Shelton, Terri
Schafer, Pam Van Vorst, Jalane Weber, Tim Buecher and Lucy Schenk

Debbie Clark called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.
A motion to approve the minutes was given by Chris Jines and 2nd by
Terri Schafer
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Speakers
Tim Buecher and Lucy Schenk spoke to Staff Council regarding SpringFest
and the ride bracelets for the Carnival and how the food tickets will
be exchanged for food.
Employee Relations Committee
Committee discussed the finalization of SpringFest door prizes for the
event. Student Appreciation Week is coming up.
Economic Benefits
Committee discussed a complaint on health insurance payment to health
provider. Molly McConnell said that complaints can come through Human
Resources, but after April 14, 2004, stricter medical information privacy
law takes effect. The changes will make it more difficult for Human
Resources to directly contact the carriers and discuss claims that include
detailed personal medical information.
Nominating
The Nominating Committee is gearing up to find people interested in
serving on Staff Council. Carol Diedrich has volunteered to be on this
committee and help Donna Hopf.
NEW BUSINESS:
Debbie Clark mentioned the fall program and suggested at the April 28,
2004 meeting, we could discuss future programs.
OLD BUSINESS:
Karen Anderson brought up discussion on how the University informs Staff
and Faculty on deaths within the USI community.
DISCUSSION & ANNOUNCEMENT:
Motion for the meeting to be adjourned was made by Darren Shelton
and 2nd by Terri Schaefer.
