Approved Minutes
Present: Sandi Migonis, Karen Anderson, Mandi Fulton, Dave Huebner, JoAnn
Lamar, Terri Schaefer, Madonna Shaw, Molly McConnell, Janet Johnson, Rose
Scruggs, Lois Stevens, Mary Alice Weigand, Denise Sauer, Terry Martin and Donna

1) Sandi Migonis called the meeting to order at 10:05 a.m.
i) Approval of Minutes
(a) The minutes were approved with corrections.
(b) Motion to approve by Mandi Fulton and seconded by Terri Schaefer.
ii) Committee Reports
(a) Nominating Committee Report
1. Dave Huebner reported that all the candidates have been approached to
accept the vacant positions on the Staff Council.
(b) Economic Benefit Committee Report
1. The committee has not met this past month.
(c) Employee Relations Committee
1. Archibald’s Closet is in good shape now and an email food drive has been
conducted for the needed items.
2. Family Day with the Eagles is in the planning stages and is scheduled for
December 29th.
3. The Giving Tree(s): will be in different locations throughout the
University.
4. Web Page: Rose Scruggs has added a new version to the Staff Council Web
page. She is adding notices and reminders and asked that we all check out the
website for additional information.
iii) New Business
(a) Rose Scruggs asked if the University would pay for education from another
university. Ivy Tech will pay to complete a 4-year degree according to in-state
university tuition.
(b) Janet Johnson will check with other universities to see what their policy
is.
(c) Karen Anderson brought up a matter from an employee, who pointed out that
third shift employees cannot get on pipeline to check on pay stubs when they
come to work due to the pipeline shutdown. Human Resources will address this.
(d) It was also discussed that the minutes are to be added to the Staff
Council archives in the library.
iv) Terry Martin motioned to adjourn the meeting at 11:00. Lois Stevens
seconded the motion.
