Don’t miss Staff Council’s Employee Summer Social from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 21, under the University Center Conference Center (“the Bridge”).

Staff Council members will serve up fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cole slaw, and ice cream.

Washers, miniature golf, and Frisbee games will be set up on the USI Quadrangle. “The students love playing out on the quad and I think the employees will too,” said Staff Council representative Virginia Thomas.

Archie’s Silent Auction will be resurrected this year. Every employee in attendance will receive five tickets for the auction. Those who bring donations for Archibald Eagle’s Food Closet will receive extra tickets.

“We really need paper products and cleaning products for Archie’s Closet,” said Pam Moore, chair of Staff Council’s employee relations committee. “We have enough canned goods to last for a very long time.”

Moore said the Employee Summer Social is an opportunity for USI employees to get together, relax, and have a good time. “A lot of us don’t get out of our offices and meet other people on campus,” she said.

Staff Council members are elected to represent the University’s support staff. The organization hosts the Employee Summer Social each year.
