Resident Staff

MELONY HURM (assistant to the managing director, off-season box office manager) is an Evansville native. She graduated from the University of Southern Indiana with a degree in elementary education, and before coming to The New Harmony Theatre, she was the Computer Aide at Westside Catholic School.


SHAN JENSEN (costumes) Fifteenth NHT season. NHT: As Thousands Cheer, A Moon to Dance By, The Odd Couple, Sylvia, The Last Night of Ballyhoo, Cowgirls, The Foreigner, Eccentricities of a Nightingale, A Day in Hollywood/A Night in the Ukraine, Pump Boys and Dinettes, Anna Christie, Private Lives, Godspell, Twelfth Night, Sleuth, Noises Off, The Philadelphia Story, Always…Patsy Cline, You Never Know, The Cherry Orchard, Steel Magnolias, Dames at Sea, Death of a Salesman, The Sunshine Boys, She Loves Me, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Stardust (also sets), The Golden Age, The Glass Menagerie, I Do! I Do!, Our Town, Born Yesterday, The Mystery of Irma Vep, and Tintypes. THOMAS “TOMMY” THOMPSON (sound) Second NHT season. NHT: Production manager for As Thousands Cheer, A Moon to Dance By, The Odd Couple. Holds an MFA in theatre technology from the University of Illinois. Professional credits include the Blues Clues Live national tour 2003, western Michigan’s Cherry County Playhouse, and the Veggie Tales Live national tour 2002. Served as technical director for University of Illinois at Urbana, Breadline Theatre Group, Heartland Theatre, and Morris Theatre Guild. Scenic design and painting for many shows at Illinois State University, Breadline Theatre, and Morris Theatre. Member of I.A.T.S.E. Local 193. Serves as technical director for USI Theatre during the academic year. 


Craig A. Young (lighting) received his MFA in lighting design and scenography from Virginia Tech and his BA in technical theatre from Lock Haven University. He has designed professionally at Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Independent Eye, Touchstone Theatre, LaMama e.t.c., and the Baltimore Theatre Project. His international credits include the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Festival Internacional De Danza Contemporanea in Mexico, Festival Sucrentino Internacional De Danza in Venezuela, and the Suitcase Festival of International Theatre in Bulgaria.
