June and July 
Experience what living on campus has to offer while on your orientation visit! During the June and July orientation sessions, students and families can experience what living on campus is like. This experience also allows you to meet other students, connect with other parents, and participate in activities and events with current USI student leaders.

Campus housing for orientation is located in our state-of-the-art residence halls and consists of suite-style rooms. Each suite contains two shared bedrooms, each with a bathroom and a living area. Accommodations are limited, and families could be placed with another family in the same suite.

Families and students choosing to take advantage of this outstanding opportunity will need to bring linens (twin sheets, blanket, pillow, towel, etc), toiletries, alarm clock, and personal items. Check-in is from 5-10 p.m. the evening prior to orientation in Newman Hall, with check-out by 8:30 a.m. the day of orientation.

The price for the residential experience during the June and July orientation sessions is $18 per person per night (NON-REFUNDABLE).  All orientation housing fees will be posted to the student's University account. No payment is due at the time of making a reservation. Emergency cancellations will be considered on a case-by-case basis. 

Indicate on the reservation form if you plan to stay on campus. You may reserve your housing space online when you complete your orientation reservation or complete the housing section on the reservation form in the booklet. Orientation housing costs are separate from housing fees for the fall semester.

August Housing 
No on-campus housing will be provided for students or their guests during the August orientation session. However, if you have a fall housing assignment, have paid your housing deposit, and are registered for the August 15 orientation session, you are able to move into your fall housing assignment on August 14. If you need to move in earlier than August 14, you will need to fill out an early request form by August 1. Please note this is only a request and you will need confirmation from Housing & Residence Life to move in early. You may move in from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. on August 14; please check-in at the Housing Office, 839 Pruis Lane, 812/468-2000. Students must check into their housing prior to or after the orientation program.
