The University of Southern Indiana offers an annual scholarship program for adult learners to recognize their academic achievement and provide financial assistance as they work to complete an associate's or bachelor's degree.
The scholarship is awarded in the spring of the academic year and is available for use for tuition, fees, books and other USI expenses beginning that fall. Most awards are in the range of $500-$2,000.
Applicants must be current students, age 25 or older, with sophomore (30 semester hours completed) or higher class standing, and have a completed FAFSA on file with USI. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be in compliance with Satisfactory Academic Progress guidelines established for financial assistance.
Winners will be selected based on academic achievement, overall quality of the application essay and recommendations, and financial need.
The completed application, essay, and letter of recommendation from one or more USI faculty/staff members should be submitted to Adult Learner Scholarship, Outreach and Engagement, 8600 University Boulevard, Evansville, IN 47712. They may be hand-carried to room 2209 in University Center East, or emailed to Andrea Sinnett.
The next application deadline will be April 15, 2016. The application form and instructions can be found here.
