Thinking About CAP?

The College Achievement Program is designed to:

  • Provide an opportunity to earn college credit while in high school
  • Provide an intellectual challenge during the junior and senior years
  • Allow students an opportunity to test ability to do college work
  • Ease the transition from high school to college
  • Reduce the duplication of curriculum that often occurs between the last year of high school and the first year of college
  • Transfer credit to most colleges and universities
  • Provide access to USI's David L. Rice Library

CAP students also pay a lower per-hour tuition rate than regular university students. Before registering for a dual credit course, students and parents should review the dual credit helpful hints.

Feel free to browse around the web site for more details or you can email cap@usi.edu, call 812-228-5022 or view a presentation highlighting the nuts and bolts of CAP.

If you are a high school student wanting to take USI courses on campus or online, you may be interested in the High School Agreement Program. The High School Agreement Program is different from CAP in so far as students are participating in USI courses independent of their high school with special admission status from USI. Visit http://www.usi.edu/admission/high-school-agreement for more information and an application. Students should be prepared to pay full USI undergraduate tuition plus the cost of books and additional fees. No tuition waivers are given for students on free/reduced lunch or 21st Century Scholars program.
