David L. Rice Library:
The new David L. Rice Library was built to the south of the existing library and opened in the summer of 2006. The new library is the largest facility on campus at 158,000 square feet and will allow the existing functions of the library to expand as needed for the growth of the university. Sixteen additional classrooms have been built in the lower level of the Library to help meet the continued need for more classroom space. Also included is a Starbucks Coffee that will have extended operating hours to accomodate the students. |

An accordion fire door that allows a more open feel into redwood lobby from the U-Hall is one feature that helped make it a more welcoming space.
