Loop Road and Campus Entrance Improvements:
A new loop road encircling the core of campus has been proposed as part of the Campus Master Plan. The initial phase of this work will include a round-about at the main entrance, minor improvements to the roads on the west edge of campus and a new road east of parking lots A, B and C which will limit traffic to a section of University Boulevard in front of those lots. Initial planning and approvals are under way for the initial phase and engineers will soon complete the construction documents. A start of construction date has not been established. |

Support Services Facility:
Plans are being developed to relocate Distribution Services, the Maintenance Department and the Central Storeroom to a new facility on east side of campus. The building will serve as a central receiving and distribution center for the campus and will relocate maintenance from the Physical Plant where a future project will expand the central heating and cooling plant where the existing maintenance shops are located. Construction is scheduled to start mid to late 2007. |

McCutchan Art Center:
An art teaching gallery has been proposed for the university. Architects are in the design/ development stage of the design with an estimated construction start in late 2007. |

Quadrangle Development:
Construction is under way for work on the new quadrangle to be established between the Liberal Arts Center and Rice Library. The initial phase will consist of earthwork, landscaping and enhanced site lighting to help create outdoor spaces and a new fountain in the circular plaza area outside the University Center. Completion is scheduled for fall 2007. |

Education Center - Lower Level Completion:
Costruction has started to complete the lower level which was left unfinished in the original construction. The new construction will consist of offices for the Social Work Department, ROTC, the Honors Program, a classroom and a student lounge. A new exterior entrance into the lower level will also be added to the west facade of the building. Completion is scheduled for fall of 2007. |

McDonald West Recreation Center Renovation:
This project will consist of a complete renovation and addition to the existing building that will enhance existing laundry areas, student gathering spaces, staff offices and add exterior patios and terraces. A food service concept is being planned for the building along with relocating the Eagle Express Convenience Store to this building. Construction is scheduled to begin spring 2007. |

Expansion of Recreation and Fitness Center:
A 40,000 s.f. addition is being planned for the existing building which will comprise new weight rooms, group activity spaces, lounge areas and a climbing wall. Construction is scheduled to begin in fall 2007. |

Multipurpose Building Sanitary Sewer Extension - Broadway Athletic Complex:
With the interior recently completed, plans for the sanitary sewer extension have begun. The sanitary sewer will be connected to the campus sewer system with the installation of a pump/ force main. Construction is scheduled to start in spring 2007. |

Orr Center Renovation:
The Orr Center will go through a series of renovations which will allow various departments to relocate and gain much needed space. The initial phase in the lower level has recently been completed and plans are in progress for the second and third phase on the first level. The second phase will include a renovation to the space previously occupied by the Career Services and Placement Office and the Career Counseling Office. Once complete, this area will be occupied by Financial Aid. The third phase is concurrenty being designed and will include a renovation to the Admissions Office and front Lobby. Construction on phase two is scheduled to start late 2007. |

College of Business and Classrom Building:
Programming is complete and the schematic design phase will be completed in January 2007 for the 135,000 square feet structure to be built south of the Liberal Arts Center and adjacent to the Technology Center. The project will proceed into the design development and construction document phases upon authorization to construct the building. |
