Welcome to the University of Southern Indiana.   I am especially happy to welcome this year’s entering freshmen -- the Class of 2015 -- who will have the distinction of graduating during the year USI celebrates its 50^th anniversary!

With more than 10,800 students enrolled in classes and over 16,000 engaged in continuing education opportunities, it is easy to see that learning is at the heart of everything we do.  A model for student-centered postsecondary education, USI also is deeply engaged in the community, ensuring economic and workforce development and providing applied research to benefit the region.

USI is in the second year of a five-year strategic plan designed to fulfill the mission and guide the growth of the institution.  The goals of the strategic plan are:

                • Increase experiential learning opportunities; 

                • Increase the graduation rate;

                • Become a "24/7" campus;

                • Provide leadership to the region;

                • Increase the diversity of faculty, staff, and student body; and

                • Preserve and nurture our campus community.

It is through the creative involvement of many USI students, faculty, and staff that we continue to work toward the accomplishment of these important goals.
