Labyrinth class walk As a result of its dramatic growth in the past 15 years, the University of Southern Indiana has undergone a major transformation in academic programs and in instructional and support facilities. The climate exists for future progress that could surpass that of the recent past.

The University is a regionally responsive, needs-driven, comprehensive public university in the model of the "new American college." Emphasizing teaching and interaction between faculty and students, the University values both need-based applied research and basic research, and actively pursues engagement in the region.
