Logo Tips

Resizing the Logo

Please note: When changing the size of the logo for your document, it is important that you maintain the correct proportions. i.e. in Microsoft Word always resize using the corners of the picture box only. This will automatically retain the correct proportions. Do not stretch or condense the image in any manner to "fit."

Quality

Avoid borrowing a logo from a web site for printing purposes. Doing so will result in an image that is grainy and may have some shift in color. It is important that the USI logo be represented with quality and consistency.

Colors

Multi-color version - The USI official logo is a three-color design composed of the red and blue colors of the University and black. The colors may not be reversed from the standard design. The official colors for USI are Pantone 540 (blue) and Pantone 7427 (red). No other shades of red and blue may be used. The University name color is officially black. If it is necessary to have only two colors (red/blue), the name color may change to USI blue only. No other color combination is permitted.

One-color version - When using a one-color version, the logo may be any single color, including black, which complements the piece on which it is being used.

If you need a logo other than those pictured here, email Chris Norrick or Zach Weigand, or call 812/465-1286 for assistance.

Logo Use Policy

The above logos are provided here to help assure that acceptable quality and accuracy are met when using the USI logo. The availability of these logos does not imply automatic approval for their use. By downloading the files, you become responsible for complying with guidelines and policies noted here.

While not required, it is recommended that you contact the director of Publishing Services or the Bookstore manager, as appropriate, regarding intended use of a USI logo.

Logo Use in Printed Documents

Publishing Services is responsible for producing and/or approving publications targeted to audiences outside of the University, and is available to assist with internal publications as well. In addition to content and design quality, this office must assure guidelines are met for University standards, marketing goals, logo/wordmark usage, and postal regulations. Any off-campus printing or copying must have prior authorization from the director of Publishing Services.

For assistance with publication planning, design, and printing, contact the Publishing Services office at extension 1954 or by email to Leslie Parker.

Licensing Policy and Procedure (for profit)

The University of Southern Indiana seeks to manage the use of its logo and images and to benefit financially from the marketing of that image. To that end, a licensing program has been developed which establishes a framework for consistently applying the license policy to activities associated with the licensing of the University name and emblem. Questions regarding application of the policy are to be directed to the Bookstore manager. View full policy and contact information at USI Bookstore.
