Students found violating any University policy, including student organization and Housing and Residence Life policies, will be subject to the University Judicial Process. See Student Handbook: Rights and Responsibilities
The conduct process begins when an incident or security report is filed with the University and/or Housing and Residence Life and then sent to a Hearing Officer, typically an Area Coordinator or the Assistant Director for Student Conduct. After reviewing the report, the Hearing Officer decides if a violation is likely to have occurred, the following process begins:
A
Notice of Infraction
is a formal, written statement informing the student, a report was filed
of an alleged violation that the student
may be in violation for of the
Following the infraction, the student may receive a Meeting Notice;
A Meeting Notice, is a formal, written request for an Administrative Meeting with a Hearing Officer (an Area Coordinator or Assistant Director of Housing and Residence Life), to discuss the alleged violation(s).
During the Administrative Meeting;
Students will meet with one of the individual
professional staff members designated to conduct University student
complaint resolution proceedings.
Student rights will be reviewed by the hearing officer with the student.
Charges will be reviewed with the student. At this
time, students can indicate whether they believe they are responsible
for the policy violation(s) or not responsible for the policy
violation(s).
A student will be given the opportunity to present his/ her version of events to the administrative hearing officer and respond to any of the materials associated with the violation.
The Hearing Officer may ask questions of the
student and any witnesses. The Hearing Officer will deliberate over the
information and will make every attempt to reach a decision within five
(5) business days from the date of the meeting as to whether or not the
student is responsible or not responsible for the violation(s).
The student will be notified of the outcome in writing, indicated as a Meeting Record.
The
Meeting Record;
is a formal, written document indicating the outcome of the alleged
violations and if the student is being held In Violation or Not In
Violation. Sanctions that result from the alleged violations are also

The appeals process will be outlined and included in the Meeting Record.
