Family Newsletter for                Parents and Families

Welcome to the USI Family

Congratulations on your student's admission to the University of Southern Indiana and their decision to live on campus. I hope that both you and your student(s) will find that this is one of the best decisions of their college career. Students who live on campus frequently have higher grade point averages (GPAs) and are generally happier with their overall college experience. We believe the choice to live on campus will make a positive and lasting impact on your student’s time at USI and hope to include you in the experience.

It is our hope that this newsletter, Family Information, Resources, and Student Transition Newsletter, or FIRST, will help you feel more connected to the University of Southern Indiana and the Department of Housing and Residence Life. We know that it is important to share communication with one another on a variety of different topics, and this newsletter will serve as a centralized location for the information you want and need!

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestion, please let us know. You can contact our office by calling 812-468-2000 or e-mailing living@usi.edu. I look forward to a great year with you and your student!

With Screaming Eagle Pride,

Laura A. Berry

Director of Housing and Residence Life
