Liberal Arts
The
Liberal Arts Learning Community has been created for freshman interested in
discovering the interdisciplinary nature of knowledge, developing values and
skills for civic engagement and responsible global citizenship, and connecting
learning to the world beyond the classroom. The USI College of Liberal
Arts prepares students for future careers, graduate programs, and good
citizenship through its 30 majors within 10 academic departments: Art;
Communications; English; History; Modern & Classical Languages; Performing Arts;
Philosophy; Political Science & Public Administration; Psychology; Sociology;
Anthropology, & Criminal Justice Studies.
The LLC fosters an environment for achieving academic success, building relationships, and encouraging students to get involved with campus organizations and activities. Students who get connected and involved are more successful in their college careers. Throughout the year the LLC offers many opportunities for students to get involved and incentives to stay involved.
