The Intramural staff does not intend for awards to be the primary reason for participation.  The most significant award or active participation and success in the Intramural Sports program is not material.  Awards do, however, add to the excitement of participation, serve as a token of one’s success, and provides a tangible remembrance.  For these reasons, specially designed awards are presented to the first place league winners and first and second place tournament winners.  Special recognition will be awarded at the end of the year to individuals as well as teams that accumulate the most participation points.

League Championship Awards:  Teams that win their league in each sport will be presented championship t-shirts.

Post Season Tournament Awards:  Teams that win the play-off tournament and the runner-ups in each sport will receive special sport specific championship t-shirts.  Most valuable players will be recognized in these sports as well and will receive a Most Valuable Player (MVP) sweatshirt.

Individual and Dual Sports Awards:  T-shirts will be presented to all individuals and dual event champions.

Special Event Awards:  Special event t-shirts and individual awards and prizes will be presented in these activities and will vary from event to event.

Staff Awards:      Office Assistant, Official, Scorekeeper, and Supervisor of the Month

End of the Year Awards

At the conclusion of the Intramural season, an All Campus Screaming Eagle Banquet is organized to recognize the outstanding accomplishments achieved by teams and individuals throughout the year.  Presentation of traveling trophies, sweatshirts, and t-shirts are presented to recognize these champions.  These teams and individuals are also recognized on plaques that hang on the wall in the PAC.  Awards will be voted on by captains, officials, scorekeepers and the Intramural staff.

Team Awards:

All Campus Champions: (Men and Women)  A traveling team trophy and sweatshirts are awarded to the team that scores the most points by participating in activities and how well they do throughout the entire year.

Team Spirit / Sportsmanship Award: (Men and Women)  Special recognition will be awarded to the team that shows good sportsmanship, plays fair, is cooperative, and shows enthusiasm when they play in the Intramural program.

Special Events Participation Award:  This award will be presented to the team who participates the most throughout the year in special events programs and activities.

Outstanding New Team: (Men and Women)  This award is presented each year to the most outstanding new team on the basis of leadership, enthusiasm, positive attitude and by being the most outstanding new team adding to the success of the Intramural program.

Most Improved Team: (Men and Women)  This award is presented each year to the most improved team on the basis of leadership, enthusiasm, positive attitude and by being the most improved team adding to the success of the Intramural program.

Outstanding Greek Team: (Men and Women)  This award is presented each year to the outstanding fraternity and sorority team on the basis of leadership, enthusiasm, positive attitude and by being the most outstanding fraternity or sorority team that adds to the success of the Intramural program.

Most Supportive Team:  This award is presented each year to the most supportive and cooperative team on the basis of leadership, enthusiasm, positive attitude and by being the most supportive and cooperative team that adds to the success of the Intramural program.

Outstanding Coed Team:  This award will be presented to the team who participates the most throughout the year in coed activities and shows leadership, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude that adds to the success of the Intramural program.

Individual Awards:

Scorekeeper of the Year: This award is presented to the outstanding Scorekeeper of the year.

Sports Official of the Year: (Male and Female)  This award is presented each year to the outstanding official on the basis of consistency, enthusiasm, leadership, good positioning and mechanics, knowledge of the rules, number of sports and contests officiated, training received, dependability, and reliability.

All Campus Athlete of the Year: (Male, Female, Coed Male, Coed Female)This award is presented to the outstanding male, female, coed male and coed female athlete on the basis of participation, attitude, spirit of fair play, enthusiasm, loyalty, sportsmanship, athletic ability, and overall representation of the Intramural program.

All Campus Captain of the Year: This award is presented each year to the outstanding All Campus captain on the basis of leadership, attitude, enthusiasm, loyalty, cooperation, dependability, reliability, and overall representation of the Intramural program.

Supervisor of the Year:  This award is presented each year to the outstanding supervisor on the basis of leadership, knowledge of the Intramural program, dependability, reliability, loyalty, attitude, enthusiasm, organizational skills, planning ability, initiative, relationship with staff and participants, diplomacy and tact, and overall representation of the Intramural program.

Spirit Award:  This award is presented to one or more Intramural staff members for their outstanding positive attitude, spirit, loyalty, enthusiasm, and sportsmanship throughout the year.

Leadership Award:  This award is presented to one or more Intramural staff members for outstanding leadership throughout the year.

Academic Excellence Award:  This award is presented to one or more Intramural staff members for outstanding academic excellence throughout the year.

Outdoor Adventurer of the Year:  This award is presented each year to the outstanding outdoor adventurer of the year on the basis of leadership, enthusiasm, positive attitude and by actively participating and adding to the success of the Intramural outdoor adventure program.
