Equipment Checkout

Want to go camping but don't have the right gear?
You can check out equipment from the RFWC!

Who can get equipment?
Equipment can be checked out by any student, faculty, or staff member with a valid USI ID, or by any registered campus group or department. You will have to provide your USI Eagle Access ID number or valid University account number upon check-out. The RFWC reserves the right to check student enrollment or faculty/staff employment status prior to equipment being checked out.

What can I check out?
An individual can check out enough gear to outfit two (2) campers. We have tents, sleeping bags, sleeping pads, and lanterns available. Larger groups may make special arrangements with RFW professional staff to check out additional gear.

Equipment is typically available for weekend checkout. All equipment must be returned no later than noon on Tuesday, or a daily fine of $5.00 will be assessed. Longer equipment rentals are available with prior approval only.

How much does it cost?
Equipment check-out from the RFW is free! Borrowers are responsible for returning equipment on time and in good condition. If equipment is returned later than noon on Tuesday, a $5.00 daily fine will be assessed. You may also be charged for replacement costs of any damaged equipment.

How do I check out equipment?

Make a reservation. Call the RFWC at 812/461-5268 to reserve what you would like for a specific date. Equipment will be loaned out without a reservation only if available.
Come pick up your gear. Make sure to bring your Eagle Access card. You will have to complete an Equipment Loan Request Form with an RFWC staff member.
Please return your equipment on time so that others can enjoy it!
