What Does Consent Really Mean?

Consent is required before engaging in any sexual activity. Both individuals must give their consent.

Consent IS a freely given verbal statement of desire to participate in the sexual activity.  It means saying "yes".

Consent IS NOT saying things like:

This means that you have to ask each person, each time if the behavior is OK. Just because you did something in the past doesn't mean that it's OK now.

Anyone who is under the influence of drugs or alcohol is legally not able to give consent. However, even if both parties are drinking does not mean that an assault has not occurred.
