Intellectual Wellness

Intellectual well-being involves ongoing learning and the ability to open our minds to new ideas and experiences.  This can include attending formal events like classes and seminars, as well as reading, learning a new sport or language, or picking up a new hobby.  Sharing ideas with people from different backgrounds helps us advance in all aspects of life.

Intellectual Wellness Resources at USI Include:

  • The Counseling Center offers counseling to students struggling academically due to stress, test anxiety, procrastination, time-management difficulties, and/or other concerns.
  • The Kinesiology and Sport Department offers major degrees in Physical Education Teaching, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, and Sport Management. In addition, the department offers minor degrees in Coaching, Health and Safety Education, Sport Management, and Personal Training, and a master’s degree in Education with a concentration in Kinesiology, Health and Sport.
  • Housing and Residence Life offers various programs to promote the intellectual wellness of all students. Computer labs are available on each wing of each residence hall. Computer and print stations are also available in the Housing and Residence Life office and The Community Center.
