Mission
Statement
Archibald Eagle's Food Closet is a service located at USI. This service
is supported by the cooperative efforts of the USI Student Wellness
Office, campus and community individuals and organizations to promote
the health and wellness of USI students and employees. Foremost in this
mission is providing assistance for those who need it, while responding
to individual needs with respect and dignity. All requests for
assistance are confidential.
What is
Archibald Eagle's Campus Food Closet?
A place where non-perishable food and non-food items may be obtained for
students and employees who find themselves in financial straits or
emergency situations.
Where is the
Food Closet?
The Food Closet is located in the lower level of the University Center.
How is the
Food Closet accessed?
Contact the USI Dean of Students Office at 812/464-1862, in the lower
level of the University Center, Room 007 or the Student Wellness Office
at 812/464-1807, in the Recreation and Fitness Center.
Who may use
the Food Closet?
University of Southern Indiana students and employees.
What does it
cost to use the Food Closet?
There is no monetary fee. Individuals show a valid Eagle Access Card,
complete a Food Closet card, and agree to volunteer two hours of service
to an organization of the user's preference.
How is the
Food Closet maintained?
By donations of non-perishable foods, non-food items, and financial
support of individuals and organizations on and off campus.
What does the
Food Closet stock?
Peanut butter, canned meats, macaroni and cheese, pasta, rice, dried
beans, vegetables, soups, canned fruit, microwave food items, canned or
powdered milk, paper products, toiletries and toothpaste.
