Student Wellness Programs
The RFW offers a number of different programs for anyone who wants to learn more about a specific area or improve his or her wellness. We partner with many different campus organizations to offer educational and fun programs.
e-chug Are you concerned about a friend's drinking? e-chug is a free, confidential, personalized feedback tool for you to learn about your alcohol use and how to drink in a safer manner.
Wonderful World of Wellness Fair (October 6, 2011) The Wonderful World of Wellness Fair is held in the fall of each school year. This all-day fair for students and staff provides an opportunity to learn about the different resources available at USI and in the community to best support your overall health and wellness.
Safe Spring Break Fair (February 29, 2012) The Safe Spring Break Fair is held the week before spring break each year, and provides students an opportunity to get information related to having a safe and healthy spring break. Campus and community partners participate with interactive programs on skin care, international travel, drinking, sexual assault, tattoos and piercings, gambling, and more. There are games, prizes, and give-aways!
Midnight Magic Ski Trip (February 4-5, 2012) The Midnight Magic Ski Trip provides a getaway opportunity for late-night skiing and snowboarding at Paoli Peaks in Paoli, Indiana. Students have opportunities to make new friends, exercise, and try a new sport. A small fee covers pass and equipment rental, bus transportation, and a midnight meal. Sign up early as space is limited! The trip is co-sponsored by Housing & Residence Life.
Walk
a Mile in Her Shoes (April 10, 2012)
The saying goes: "You can't really understand another person's
experience until you have walked a mile in their shoes." USI's
annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes allows men to do just that - walk a mile
in women's shoes to raise awareness and stop rape, sexual assault, and
gender-based violence.
Healthy Eating Consultations The RFW offers support to anyone who wants to learn to eat healthier, especially in conjunction with a workout plan. We can work with you one-on-one to help you meet your goals. Learn about the MyPyramid program, portion size, and the best choices for eating on campus. Contact the RFW to get started.
Smoking Cessation The RFW offers help for anyone who wants to quit using tobacco. This is especially important as USI prepares to go tobacco-free in July 2011! Contact us to get started. (More information)
B.R.A.D. Birthday Card Project All students who turn 21 while they are at USI receive a birthday card from us! These cards encourage students to celebrate safely and contain a wallet care with alcohol poisoning signs and symptoms. Check out the National BRAD Site.
