For field trip and travel within the United States, the University of Southern Indiana provides excess accidental medical insurance (excess of students' health insurance) for official, organized, and supervised field trips. There is no deductible and the policy pays up to $25,000 limit for covered medical expenses (such as your deductible and co-payments).
If you are planning on going on a supervised field trip within the United States, please complete the USI Field Trip form for Risk Management and Travel.
Please review the student domestic travel policy and fill out the necessary forms before traveling around the U.S.
If you had an accident while on your field trip that resulted in injuries and medical bills, first turn in the bills to your own health insurance. Once you have received an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from your insurer showing the additional amount you owe, please fill out the USI Field Trip Claim Form.
