Grant Received from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

USI is pleased to announce the receipt of a grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.  This grant enables us to open our Tuesday night session to the regional community, and provides enhanced materials for those who register for the School Social Work Institute.  Please see the Program page for more information.

Scholarship Possibilities:

If you are an Indiana resident looking for a means to help finance conference fees, the Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is a great resource.  You can apply for up to $750 per person in each fiscal year (July 1-June 30).  The application process involves about six questions you must answer basically stating how you will use the funds.  Scholarships are available for tuition and fees only, not for travel or other expenses.   Click here to visit their web site for qualification and application information.

The Indiana School Social Work Association (INSSWA) is offering several scholarships to the 2009 Institute.  The scholarships cover fees (not housing or travel) and any member of INSSWA may apply.  An application will be sent to members in early spring.  If you are not a member but hold a BSW or MSW, contact Beth Hoban for further information.

The NEA Foundation for the Improvement of Education (NFIE) awards grants to teachers, education support professionals, and higher education faculty and staff to engage in high-quality professional development.  Visit their Web site at http://www.nfie.org/.
