Interesting info

This thick, bushy plant has small, white flowers and is covered with slender leaves.

It is also known as farewell-to-summer and goodbye-meadow, first because it ushers in the fall and second because it tends to take over a field.

 


You ought to know

Height: 2' - 3'

Frequency: Several plants found in low-lying areas of the sunny field.

Blooms: late July and into September.

Range: Found from New England to Minnesota and Missouri

 

 


This aster is extremely difficult to identify with standard reference books, some of which seem to refer to it as Aster pilosus or Aster ericoides pilosus.
