Interesting info

Abundant in some years, nearly nonexistent in others. The frequency evidently varies with the previous year's water level at the cypress swamp.

In good years, this plant may be seen from the swamp boardwalk. Look about 20 to 30 feet to the north from the foot of the platform.

Range: Found only rarely in southern Indiana.

Also found from Maine to central New York and south to Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, and Florida.
