Showy white flower with maroon or purple center.

The large, edible tuber (or root) has been known to grow to six feet in length.

Also known as man-of-the-earth (because of its monstrous root?).

Height: Sprawling vine, hugs the ground or climbs what it can find.

Frequency: Many plants found in sunny field.

Blooms:July and August

Range: Found throughout Indiana.

Also found from New England to Michigan to Kansas and from Florida to Texas.
