Interesting info

Clusters of small yellow flowers hug the branches of spicebush, giving a burst of color to the spring woods.

A broken twig or leaf will yield a spicy odor.

Spicebush produces red berries at the end of summer. (Squeeze one and sniff!)

Height: woody shrub grows to 8' or more

Frequency: Several plants found in high, dry areas of woods.

Blooms: April

Range: Found throughout Indiana.

Also known from New England to Michigan to Kansas and from Georgia to east Texas.
